Michael Garcia-Picazo (he/him) is the Deputy Director of Together We Stand (TWS), a California nonprofit focused on equity, justice, and community empowerment. A lifelong grassroots organizer from the Bay Area, he brings extensive experience in harm reduction, mental health advocacy, and social justice. His own recovery journey fuels his passion for breaking down barriers to care and supporting underserved communities.

At TWS, Michael leads strategic initiatives and remains hands-on in delivering direct services like street medicine, harm reduction, behavioral health support, and substance use treatment navigation for unhoused and marginalized populations. His work centers on outreach, overdose prevention, and wraparound case management to foster healthier, more resilient communities.

Driven by lived experience, Michael is a passionate advocate for equitable healthcare access, crisis response, and systemic reform. He has earned multiple recognitions for his dedication to grassroots organizing and continues to bridge critical gaps in care and justice through his leadership.
